Lauren Reskin

To say Lauren Reskin wears many hats would be a gross understatement. The 26-year-old Miami native is a DJ/club promoter/writer/graphic designer/event coordinator and was recently appointed to the city’s Council of Arts & Entertainment by the mayor. And those are just her side jobs. Her biggest accomplishment to date is opening Sweat Records in 2005. The store—located in the center of Miami—carries all forms of music as well as gifts, local art, and even has a DJ set-up where anyone can spin. In her “free time,” when not running her zine, The Sweater, Reskin promotes the weekly dance party “Fridays at the Vagabond.”
