Thirty-one year-old Hollywood agent-turned-fashion-designer, Scott Sternberg has no formal fashion background, just a knack for visual paradigms. Mixing and matching vintage fabrics would eventually form the basis for his small yet successful label, Band of Outsiders, which he founded in Los Angeles in 2004. Four years later, Sternberg’s preppy designs—ranging from shrunken oxford shirts to skinny ties—can be found at Barneys, Jeffery and Ron Herman and are seen on just about everyone, including Michelle Williams, the face of his new women’s wear collection, “Boy.”
