Josh Ozersky

In April, Josh Ozersky’s The Hamburger: A History hit the bookshelves and goodness knows how the man found time to crank that sucker out. The former restaurant critic for Newsweek spends his days scouring Manhattan Island for both dishes and service industry personalities to write about on “Grub Street,” New York Magazine’s online video/blogging arm for local foodies. And what meals he doesn’t expense through the magazine, he writes off during tax season. Though lately transportation has been adding up. “The taxi bill is especially exorbitant,” says Ozersky, who lives deep in Brooklyn. “I’m so tired at the end of the night, it’s like $30 to get home. . . .I have to tip well, too, after the cabbie delivers my unconscious carcass inside my house.”
