Although Jeremy Stoppelman founded Yelp.com with the help of his old PayPal boss (and 2007 Heeb Hundred heavy) Max Levchin, he deserves credit for being the brains behind the user-generated review site. Hugely popular in its home town of San Francisco, Yelp is likely to take over New York once it opens its NYC office, partially funded by a new $15 million cash infusion from investors. The 30-year-old keeps doubling traffic at Yelp by keeping it real, most recently by taking down kiss-ass reviews from some business owners to one another and announcing that “Yelp exists to let real people speak their minds, not for business owners to slap each other on the back.”
