In November 2007, as Executive Director of Programs for the Energy Action Coalition, Jessy Tolkan organized 6,000 young people in a march on Capitol Hill to fight for a clean-energy future. Later that day, Tolkan got to play Hardball with Chris Matthews, where she told Pat Buchanan he was “living in the past.” And one month later, blogging on the Huffington Post, Tolkan spoke for her generation and demanded that the U.S. stop “subsidizing dirty industries of the past,” calling for comprehensive reforms in this country’s energy policy. Not too shabby.
