While everyone and their mama shat their pants this weekend over what’s arguably the most exciting goddamn movie of the year, the criminally underrated Bobcat Goldthwait quietly opened another one of his brilliantly demented satires, World’s Greatest Dad.
Greatest is about a downtrodden single father (Robin Williams) whose life turns around after his asshole kid (Keeping Up with the Steins’ tushy boy Daryl Sabara) accidentially kills himself after a bout of autoerotic asphyxiation. His father then stages his son’s suicide (because death by jerking off is pretty embarassing). Granted, it’s a twisted funny flick, and if you got your rocks off to Tarantino’s riotous bloodfest, I’d wager you’d be into this hidden gem. Thank me later.
