At the opening reception for the 23rd Israeli Film Festival in New York, Danny Devito received a Lifetime Achievement Award. "I’m a sheigetz," Devito proclaimed, "you have to listen to me." Devito also referenced his work for One Voice, a two-state advocacy peace group for Israelis and Palestianians. He did not, however, comment on his most storied Jewish role, that of the Penguin in 1992’s Batman Returns.
