Since Dan Akroyd’s digital endorsement for Crystal Head Vodka infested the Internet tubes, moviegoing boozehounds have been scratching their heads. Many dismiss the viral vid as a fake, a marketing ploy to both shame the Indiana Jones shitfest and push Ray Stanz back in the limelight for the next Ghostbusters sequel.

Turns out the gimmicky liquor exists, but "sold out in its test markets," says Head helmer Andrew Stodart, who wrote me yesterday. "We are working hard to restock these markets, but we don’t expect much before April of 2009."

Until then, alcoholic fan boys are busying themselves with speculation as to whether or not Dark Side Ale is real.
