Judaism in the Age of Digital Reproduction

How pleased will Sarah Silverman be when she finds out that a press photo she had taken two years ago is gracing the covers of not one, but two, crappy Jewish pop cultural knock-offs this month? When she posed for our cover in 2005, she signified nastiness, bad taste and an altogether subversive spelling-out of Jewish particularity. Now, she finds herself the poster girl for middle-aged, Hebrew school teachers and college campus outreach coordinators who project upon her all of their bland and mediocre ambitions. How sad.

Both these magazine should merge, and become “J-Tween.”
