Hey! We Know That F-ing Hipster!
One of my very favorite Tumblrs nowadays is Look At This Fucking Hipster, a blog that shows just that—hipsters being hipsters.
While I usually sign on to have a chuckle and drool over the boys in skinny jeans, today I saw that they had blogged about Nite Jewel, a band we just hyped in our music issue.
The caption accompanying the featured vid reads: “As you can see, I borrow heavily from Blondie, Gary Numan, and my Bat Mitzvah savings account.”
Ah, LATFH, why you gotta hate? Better to shell out the coming-of-age money for an awesome video than to blow it all on a cache of coke and another pair of custom-made Chucks, right?

LATFH’s attempted reduction of a band’s art project to one of his fashion statement Vice-style don’ts was indeed quite cynical and unsupportive. Nite Jewel is trying new things and putting themselves out there. Well, that’s how you get places. Good for them.
