Look at This Fucking Rip-Off: 10 Things I Hate About You , the TV Show
Hey, you know what’s an awesome idea? Taking a pretty decent movie and making a crappy kid’s show out of it. Wait. No. That’s a freaking awful idea.
Well, that’s exactly what ABC Family has done. Apparently it wasn’t enough to simply screen classic ’90s teen film 10 Things I Hate About You every day for the last six years or so, now they’ve turned it into a TV show, too.
The show, which is probably a train wreck, premiered last night. I didn’t watch it (although, let’s be honest, I’ll probably illegally download it later), mostly because of the notable lack of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose role the casting director filled with this Jewy-looking kid (see above).
I would make a Heath Ledger-rolling-over-in-his-grave joke, but I have more class than that.
For more bastardization of pop culture, check out this video, in which "edgy"-looking tweens demolish Cheap Trick’s "I Want You To Want Me."

I’ll assume that the “Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose role the casting director filled with this Jewy-looking kid” statement was made with the full awareness that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is, of course, 100% Jewish.
BTW, I’m not sure that guy in the picture (Nicholas Braun) really is Jewish, despite that “Hitler’s wife” last name.

Of course. I love J G-L. He’s awesome.
This show, however, was not. Yes, I watched it last night. I caved.
