Solange Knowles (remember her?) just sucker-punched all stupid hipsters who think they’re underground for listening to The Dirty Projectors. With her cover of "Stillness of the Move,” she turns up the R&B that frontman, Longstreth, has been alluding to for years. Hipsters are gonna have a cool crisis when their beloved indie single blows up on Hot 97 and suburban tweens start having The Dirty Projectors appreciation parties. But guess what, y’all? This cover is amazing.
With that looping guitar hook sampled from Soul Mann & The Brothers—made famous by Dr. Dre and Erykah Badu—and a thumping bassline, this song was made for 15-inch subwoofers. The rare cover that brings out every single strong point in the original and exploits them to perfection.

Well, my first thought is “can’t she write her own stuff ?” and then I listened to the original first to see how much it was going to be trashed. Then I listened to Solange’s interpetation….......well…...that girl can hit it. Would prefer her own work, but damn, she can sing. Let see if she can do it live….
