Eisenberg Deals Ecstasy… On-Screen, Anyway
A few months back, Jesse Eisenberg told me that acting can be a discouraging profession.
“Sometimes I feel like I peaked or something at the age of 20,” the actor said. “They’re making more movies about young people than old people. Almost like no other industry, you could do something wonderful one day, and, the next, have this audition that’s just an absolutely demeaning experience.”
Despite the actor’s understandable complex, he should take comfort in the fact that he’s not getting old anytime soon — and, more importantly, that he’s still getting work.
Production will begin in the spring on Holy Rollers, based on the true story of an upstate NY Hasidic ecstasy cartel, circa 1999.
Hasidic E pushers? We’re so there. But fair warning to our Heeb100 homeboy: don’t get cocky. History has proven that sometimes paranoid insecurities keep careers from turning into total dreck. Need I remind you of one pair of tweenies’ gone wayward?
