This week’s Onion includes coverage of a gathering at the Geneva Friar’s Club roast of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Joining former U.N. secretary general Kofi Annan, Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and Russian president Vladimir Putin, was lone representing the world of stand-up, Gilbert Gottfried, who will be back in town to headline Heeb Storytelling this Sunday, February 10 at Joe’s Pub.

According to The Onion, the most popular act during Ahmadinejad’s roast belonged to noneother than Israeli president Shimon Peres, who stole the show when he put one arm on the Iranian president’s shoulder and mused:

"On the way here tonight, someone told me that Mahmoud was a Shi’a. At first I thought they were saying ‘He’s a shit,’ because the two sound so similar. But there’s a big difference: One’s a brown, foul-smelling tube of solid waste—the other comes out of my asshole."
