Anyone who’s a regular listener of The Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satelitte Radio is aware of sidekick Artie Lange’s short fuse, but the comedian’s combustions in past (like the one last Halloween when he threw a cd at Stern writer Sal Governale’s head) aren’t nearly as vicious as yesterday’s blowup.

Yesterday, he began bullying his assistant, Teddy, for failing to book his flight to Amsterdam for the weekend, which morphed into a general rant about how much money he’s lent to Teddy, which led to Lange physically attacking Teddy on the air (with seven guys apparently trying to hold him back), resigning from the show and storming out of the studio.

Will the funny man return to the show next week, or is this Goodbye, Artie?
