Strange, Butt True
That hairdo is good for more than hiding drugs and shivs, it can back up a mean headbutt too. Good thing, considering Winehouse may be joining her husband in prison soon. British police have launched a formal investigation of Winehouse to look into allegations that she headbutted a fellow drinker at a pub on Wednesday night and hit Moroccan musician Mustapha el Mounmi for hogging the snooker table. UK media reports Mustapha has a bruised eye and swollen lip. He told one tabloid, “I feel so angry. She smashed my face hard. I could not hit back — she’s a woman.” Check out the pics, though, he just looks like he hasn’t been sleeping much lately and his lips got a little chapped from the cold. Plus, how much of a puss do you have to be to get assaulted by Amy Winehouse? She weighs, what, 90 pounds? But kitty can scratch – see exhibit A.

SUCKER

so ….. YOU would have smashed her??

You bet your dick I would. I don’t give a shit how well a crack addict can sing. My body is the only thing in this world that is truely mine, I’ll be god damned if I’m gonna let it come to harm over some archaic and chauvinisistic preconceptions about “the fairer sex”. I take this position not out of a lack of respect of women, exactly the opposite…I respect womens ability to inflict harm. (even if most of them seem to be unaware of it) You go ahead and keep on thinking that women are delicate flowers, but I know it just isn’t so.
Here’s the fairer sex for ya:

“...... ( even if most of them seem to be unaware of it ) “
and , What makes you think that? ?

The temptation to make a scathing comment is almost overwhelming…almost :P

hey, good self control Puck….
04.28.08 at 12:04 pm
Self control? Please….he’s got nothin.

Bullshit. The bitch is scary.
04.28.08 at 4:04 pm
I don’t think we’re just talking about the skinny bitch here.
04.28.08 at 5:04 pm
Iconic do you have any opinions of your own that you’re willing to share? Is there anything at all that you’d be willing to subject to the scrutiny of others, like I do? Or are you more comforatable just asking me questions like you’re Charlie Rose? Because this is the second topic in which you question me about what I say without offering anything of your own. So do me a favor, if you’re too chicken shit to comment directly on something I say then you should probably stay out of the deep end altogether.
So is there something about what I said you would like to take a stab at? There’s a lot there. Or are you gonna stay on the sidelines where its safe and sit this one out again?
04.28.08 at 7:04 pm
Better to be thought a fool and remain silent, than open your mouth and remove all doubt, eh Hesed? :snicker
I hit women because I respect them? Dear me…
04.28.08 at 7:04 pm
actually, as a woman…and possibly the only female writing in this thread, but correct me if I’m wrong…I think Hesed has a point. not that i’m advocating slapping bitches, just that we can’t have our cake and eat it too. we want the freedom to be sexually promiscuous and physically abusive to men, but we don’t want any consequences to those actions and we criticize men for the same behavior. If you’re gonna punch someone in the face, you deserve at least a push back, that’s all I’m saying. And, as a woman who is fully supportive of women’s rights, if I decked someone, I’d expect nothing less in return.
04.28.08 at 10:04 pm
Hesed, I agree with you when you say that the “fairer sex “ doesn’t always play fair and women are not delicate flowers. ( Though this may be just your way of setting up a straw-woman. ) IMO, your statements posted here on a hot/ popular site, if not read with the same clarity you put into your writing, may have the effect of inciting some undue violence against women .

How easy it must be for you, Puck. How easy it must be to just regurgitate convention and have other like minded conformists grunt and acknowledge your play-doh maleability. The truth is at best I’d say you are typical….how sad for you.
Thank you SF_Shiksa for the vote of confidence. I really appreciate it.
First off, I acknowledge that it is a common theme: “I could not hit back — she’s a woman”. What I dont understand is why people swallow this and then perpetuate it. This concept has its roots in the emerging middle class of Victorian society, where the idea was: “a gentleman does not strike a lady”. The idea that this is somehow a statement about violence towards women is ridiculas. Women were routinely coerced with violence, it was common and accepted. Women were sent to schools specifically to learn how to become “ladies”. It was their willing subserviance to the patriarchal status quo which made them “ladies” which made it improper to hit them. It basically says “here you go girls, you can have an education and have a marginal presence in society so long as that education does not lead you to behave in such a way as to challenge patriarchy”. So long as they accepted this idea and behaved like “ladies” then they knew they could be free of violence…step outta line and behave “un-ladylike” and all bets were off. Coercion by violence in order to keep women in their “place”.
Today, the arguement for why women cant be equal participants in certain areas of society still rages except now its “a man cant hit a woman” and although the application is differents the ends are still the same. Despite the fact that we have a universal code towards violence which makes it inappropriate in almost all situations (regardless of sex) we still hold on to that one little SPECIAL caveat of : “and you especially cant hit a woman, no matter what she does, womens actions are inconsequential”. The end result being (and one which has been well demostrated right here in this thread) is that it is a widely held belief that women are WEAK and it is this perception of weakness which is now the preferred excuse to why woman cant participate fully and equally in society. It is precisely comments like “I could not hit back — she’s a woman” which perpetuate this complete bullshit notion of man=strong, woman=weak power dynamic. What’s truly impressive is the real danger that men are willing to risk in defense of of this notion. That dumbass could have been lying in a hopsital bed with a detached retina and he’d still say “I couldn’t hit her back-she’s a woman”....watta shithead.
I know its bullshit because its the bullshit that was fed to me too. Looking at my own life experience though, I see ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE that women are weaker than men in any meaningful way which could legitimize their exclusion from the areas which they are currently excluded…and if a womans intent is to cause me harm, I’m not going behave as if it’s of no consequence, because I know that I have just as good a chance of ending up in the emergency room as if a man attacked me. I’ll say it plainly, anyone who headbutts me I’m gonna send to the hospital, I dont care who it is.

Acutally, Hesed, I read your comments on the breastfeeding topic, it’s clear that respect for women is not something you suffer from in abundance.
I suspect you’re a rather malcontent 16 year old with limited experience with the fairer sex, given your misogynstic attitudes towards them…hardly surprising. I suspect there’s a rather “Lars And The Real Girl” element to your ‘sex’ life lol.
Having said that, there’s no good reason not to hit a woman, or a man, if they hit you first. Women are physically less strong than men, on average, but I’m sure there are plenty of women/children/senior citizens/puppies out there that could kick Hesed’s ass (and are probably lining up for the privilege).
Still, whoever hits first is fair game regardless of gender, ya know what they say: don’t sign the cheque if you aint gonna cash it…or something.
04.29.08 at 2:04 am
I would not venture to guess about about Hesed’s sex life, or lack of it, as Puck tried to do. But I do agree with Puck and Hesed that “whoever hits first is fair game .” Having said that, I must add that IMO ,there is something more going on here. . .. Hesed you are just TOO angry. Almost sounded excited to post those URL’s…...
04.29.08 at 3:04 am
Puck, such venom. You should try and get your arms around that , it’s gonna eat you up. ugly indeed.
Iconic, come now… “sounded”? You’re projecting. If there was any inflection, it was coming from your perception or whatever state you were in when you read it, not me. Go back and look again. I’m sorry, in the future I’ll try to be more concise so that you dont have to resort to any more allusions and vagueries in your critique of me.
What I dont understand is why you two are so intent on riding my ass. (well I can understand why Puck might)
04.29.08 at 10:04 am
you make it too easy Hesed.
“ here’s the fairer sex for ya. “ ......
Maybe too eager to generalize.
04.29.08 at 10:04 am
Sorry, I still dont see it.
04.29.08 at 10:04 am
I’m just sayin here that you point us to the freaks, and eagerly make your points from there.
04.29.08 at 2:04 pm
I think the problem is that the incidents I linked are not as “freakish” as you seem to think they are. OK, the people in those video aren’t gang members or arch criminals. They look like pretty common, middle-class and college student types to me.
Look, this guy who got hit made a statement, a common one that I hear all the time. (ironically, men are the only ones I ever hear repeat it) I question it….for good reasons:
1.Because the pretense on which its based is false. (why I called him a SUCKER)
2 Because the perpetuation of the idea I believe has a detrimental effect.
Thats all. I dont know why you keep trying to make it out to be more than it is. It’s like you’re looking for something that isn’t there. You really should just let it go now. I mean fro fucks sake, I wrote one word and the “idignant squad” snaps to action ready to grill and harass. Lighten up. And in the future try to direct your comments to what is actually said, not what you think someone said or you wish someone had said.
04.30.08 at 1:04 am
So angry Hesed…hot…lol.
But yeah, that bitch needs to be smacked up…but not in a street slag, heroiny kinda way.
04.30.08 at 3:04 am
Puck. You are the one sounding “So angry “
and it is not funny..
04.30.08 at 9:04 pm
Oh lighten up, “Smack My Bitch Up” is a Prodigy reference…and smack is…well…smack, and we are talking about Ms. Winehouse here, she’s no stranger to the fitties I’d wager.
I’m not actually suggesting that she needs to be smacked up…:P
