Where the Hose At?

While the rest of the world bitches about high gas prices or rakes in money off $135/barrel oil, Israel has quietly positioned itself to be the king of the next resource shortage: water. Living in the desert will make you pretty good at dealing with water shortages, and now that parts of the U.S., Australia and Africa are dealing with drought as the rising middle classes of Chindia are getting thirsty, Silicon Valley venture weasels have spent the last year sniffing around Israeli water companies looking to turn survival into serious coin. Even the U.S. military is all up in Israel’s water junk. Another new resource area Israel’s well-positioned to take advantage of? Solar. Yeah, guess what, it’s hot in the desert. Which begs the question, if "green is the new black", are Israelis the new Saudis?
