Night of the Living Jews DVD Launch Party: New York, NY

Join director Oliver Noble and Heeb Magazine for the New York City premiere of the hasidic zombie movie, Night of the Living Jews. Since dropping out of high school, Noble has become a contributing editor for Heeb and virtually invented a genre of film, which he calls—“Jewish extreme.” The screening of Night of the Living Jews will be accompanied by two other such films and a q &a with the filmmaker. Heeb Hundred Opening Reception: Houston, TX

Join Heeb Magazine for the opening reception of the Heeb Hundred Portrait Exhibition. The third annual event is both a measure of where young Jews are today and a window into their future. The Heeb Hundred consists of artists and actors, musicians and movie-makers, comedians and creative-types, foodies and fashionistas, innovators and intellectuals that you need to know about. This year’s Heeb Hundred exhibition will travel from New York to Houston and Washington, D.C.

Heeb Storytelling travels to Miami, FL for the first time. Co-sponsored by The Open Tent, the event will take place at the Miami Book Fair and feature stories by Andrea Askowitz, Larry Beinhart, Martha Frankel, Stephanie Green, Jen Karetnick, Richy Lala and Karelle Levy. The night will be hosted by Daniel Reskin and be followed by an afterparty with music from Heeb contributing editor Jay Diamond.

Heeb Magazine’s critically-acclaimed storytelling series returns to the nation’s capital with seven-minute Jewish stories from Mark Katz (Bill Clinton speech writer), Michael Hearst (musician, One Ring Zero), Erica Berenstein (documentary filmmaker), Josh Swiller (author, The Unheard), Mitch Rothenberg (journalist, comic book author), Margot Liebman (writer, teacher) and Amy Saidman (SpeakeasyDC).
