They say the Jews run Hollywood. No doubt they did on this night as the magazine The New York Times called the quintessence of “all things hipster—Jewish and ironic” met the club The Los Angeles Times called “sleazy with a wink.” The event was in association with Palm Pictures and the DVD release of The Believer, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and garnered enough buzz to make Phyllis Diller‘s vibrator green with envy. The party featured the eclectic turntablism of DJ Aero, legions of exotic dancers in fedoras and thigh-highs, the hip hop shenanigans of 50 Shekel, and a performance by “the world’s worst Jewish comedian” that had the audience looking for tomatoes.
