Ghadafi (mis)Plays the Israel Card

In case there was any doubt that Ghadafi had snapped, this just in--he has apparently just justified his actions by saying that they are no different than Israel’s use of force to suppress violence from Hamas “extremists” in Gaza back in 2006.

Remarkable as it is for an Arab leader to laud Israel as a role model, that’s not what really shocks us. It’s been evident for a few weeks at least that Ghadafi is no longer interested in how he’s perceived in the Arab world. But if he he thought that he would gain the sympathy of Europeans or the UN by saying that he’s acting like Israel, it’s clear he has completely lost touch with reality.

What do you think?
