Sloane Crosley

Sloane Crosley spent more than six years as a publicist for a major book publisher, baby-sitting authors during press tours and sending advance copies to cranky critics across the land. But this spring, Crosley hopped the fence with the witty I Was Told There’d Be Cake. The title fast became a New York Times bestseller but, despite garnering rave reviews, the 29-year-old modestly embraces success. Born and raised in Westchester, New York, Crosley continues to mail galley proofs and answer press queries at her nine-to-five gig at Random House.
